Ace Jet steals post from We Made This

I won't lie; just saw this on the We Made This blog and thought it deserved more blog love. A lovely job if you ask me and there's a website packed full of everything you'd ever want to know about the project.

I too think they look fantastic, although, if the reverse is to carry the Queen's head, doesn't the lack of numerals on the coin make it a bit confusing to a foreigner or anyone not too familiar to our currency system? I know I have struggled when been abroad myself and had to rely on the numerals to help me out!
Just a thought, but I guess this must have been a consideration the Royal Mint feel is not important!
Love the blog, always pleasant to keep returning too, long may it continue!!

Interesting; it would be good to hear an explanation.
Of course, the current one pound coin doesn't carry numerals either. Perhaps numerals could be confusing in themselves, now we have coins for pounds and pence: 1/2/5/10/20 what?
Still, a valid point Craig, thanks.
