In response to my Found Type Friday request, NYC based designer Andy Jacobson has sent me images of this absolutely brilliant find. This is what Andy has said about it:
"Picked this up at 'The Strand' in NYC about 10 years ago. I couldn't find a copyright date, but it was published by Random House. The author, Dan Greenburg*, states in his prologue, 'Artist and art historians and art critics and art museum directors and other perverts have been perpetrating a cruel and devious and immoral hoax upon us for the last few centuries, and it is high time we recognize it and did something about it'…by showcasing famous artwork with, or without a veil of "descency" comparisons throughout the rest of the book are all done very tongue and cheek."
Fiddling about with great art. Brilliant! Thought it so good, I couldn't wait until Friday. Thanks Andy!
Get your copy here.
* My link: hope it's the same Dan Greenburg.
Oh, I grew up with this book! It was one of the best things we had on that top shelf that you had to stand on the arm of the sofa to reach. It's brilliant. I wonder where our family copy is . . .
