This was my first Shrigley, now 7 years old. I like it because it's very funny and weird and because it has a flap in the back which you can wrap around the front cover, glue down, address and post to someone. And what a thing to share with a friend or loved one: the twisted, scary, disturbing and very funny world of Shrigley.
If you don't know Shrigley, his work has a brilliant crapness about it. Without wanting to be too serious about it, his best stuff just shows that in our world of super-polished images, ideas are king; his drawing are crap but his ideas are brilliant (if not for the sensitive).
I like to keep a Shrigley on my desk just in case there's a dip in the usually upbeat atmosphere. There's lots more to choose from now, mostly printed by the brilliant Redstone Press. He also has an excellent website. Be afraid.
