I don't imagine I'm alone in finding that the more you "blog", the more "blog", if you know what I mean. Now that I spend far too much time looking around online at other people's stuff (when I really should be doing something more useful) I find myself stumbling across more stuff for Ace Jet. So more than half of my entries now are about stuff I've found online instead of what I'd set the thing up for, which was to catalogue what I've got. Not sure if that's interesting really but my point is that the blog has developed a self-perpetuating dimension. Which is good.
And here's another example:
A while back I posted images of the Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera that sits on my Mac. It's a thing of great beauty. On the UnBiege blog there's a link to Paul Giambarba's indepth and comprehensive account of his branding work for Polaroid. Here's a snippet of his biog notes:
Paul Giambarba initiated Polaroid's corporate image development and product identity in 1958. His innovative black packaging successfully subdued the dominance of Kodak yellow at point-of-purchase and spawned a vogue of black packaging within the industry. Creator of the ubiquitous Polaroid color stripes, one of the most widely imitated design devices of the last several decades, he designed and produced hundreds of Polaroid packages and collateral material...
I've only had chance to dip in briefly so far but it really is fascinating . Dig around through Paul's archive for all soughts of great stuff.
It's exactly what I feel when online and spend hours jumping from link to link. There's so many fabulous things out there and you just can't pull yourself back to work!
