Alan Kitching shows significant works and shares seminal influences from his fifty-year journey from printer to printmaker, apprentice to professor, Darlington to Kennington via experimental printing in Watford and letterpress in Clerkenwell to The Typography Workshop, Printroom & Studio in London SE11.

I had the honour and pleasure of a cup of coffee with Mr Kitching and his partner some months ago to discuss some work he might do - and it really WAS hugely stimulating to be in his studio, surrounded by the tools of his trade - really hands on - and such a nice bloke. He's from the old school, the school of craftsmen and real artists. He's a prefect at that school, but not a bossy one.
