I'm sure it's not unique to them but I do think Penguin have a knack of publishing eminently collectible sets. Some fairly large like the Great Ideas books and some, like this Penguin on Design series, small; which means you can get the lot for not very much. They're ideal stocking fillers for those with design tendencies.
I particularly like them because the cover for "The Medium..." is miles better than the cheesey 1967 one and the cover of "Ways of Seeing" is a) way better than the previous edition and b) true to "the fundamentals of [Richard] Hollis's original design".

I've asked Santa for "The Medium..." and "Design as Art".
If you like that, and haven't seen it yet, don't miss the David Carson-designed edition. David actually did a handful of recent re-issues of Marshall's books.

Design as Art is fantastic. I bought two. One for myself, one for one of my Masters students. Good stuff.
