Nate from Design Feast emailed me about these new Penguin Hardback Classics, available exclusively at Waterstone's and designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith. They're lovely and you can see them here but if you follow the link there to the Penguin blog you'll also find a link to an entry about Coralie's work for Penguin's classic horror series, which for me at least, are even more interesting.
Ooooh, yummy.

The hardback classics look attractive as a set but the individual designs could've been a little more daring. Not so crazy about the small titles in that serif font.
Strange complaint, they're priced a little too cheaply, and there's no mention of acid-free paper or other efforts at making them long-lasting, although admittedly I may have missed this somewhere.
