4 jobs I've had
Tufty Club Fuzzy Felt Cutter Outer
When I was about 13, my best mate's dad was a screen printer and printed the afore mentioned educational material. Over the summer holidays, we cut it all out until our child labour hands bled.
Junior Finished Artist
For a, now defunct, Design Studio in Birmingham. An archaic term; I had all the shitty jobs: cleaning out chemicals (we poured them down the sink!), slide mounting, Cow Gumming...started using a Mac and benefitted from an old-style creative director recognising my typesetting as shit.
Typographer
For a, now defunct Direct Response Ad Agency in Tewkesbury. Learning lots about type and print and learning a lot from the Ad Agency experiance that I didn't appreciate until years after leaving. Was tempted there by the inflated salary, had great people to work for but hated the work - dirty, dirty business.
Graphic Designer
For a, now...not really...Design Studio in Leicestershire where Dan at Innocent worked for a short time. Started as a Junior Designer but was blessed with the laziest Creative Director and most incompetent colleague (sorry Pete) so when half the company was made redundant soon after I'd started, I remained, regardless of being the last in. Went from strength to strength and worked with top clients like FedEx and Saab.
4 shows I never miss
I miss them all but have every intention of watching Mad Men with great enthusiam.
4 places I've been
New York: Nearly (very nearly) moved there - it's a long story.
Paris: Flea markets, cafes and the pastries! The damn pastries!
Culdaff, North Donegal: It's lovely, the sun always shines(?!) and it's only two hours away.
James St South, Belfast: Does this count? Food so good, it makes me want to cry!
4 music artists I'm listening to
Death Cab for Cutie
Graham Coxon
Echo and the Bunnymen
Stereolab
4 people to pass it on to
Antonio, Loïc, Jaypeg, Johno
With my apologies and understanding if you'd just rather not, although I would like to hear more about you.
