Cosmic Threads

September saw the second public outing for ThreadForms. I got lots of encouraging comments and sold more pieces than I expected. The first three space ThreadForms were amongst the first to sell. These are the sequels, featuring (in order) Kepler-22b, Mars and Jupiter.

Coast Stories

I've been collecting images from around northern Ireland's coastline since we moved to the Province about 15 years ago. Having grown up and lived a lot of my adult life in the most land-locked regions of England I found coastal life thrilling; from the high drama to the tiny details.

Recently I was invited to take a stall at the Seaside Revival Festival in nearby Bangor on Saturday 6 July. It's part of the Open House Festival, which I enjoyed a lot. This seemed like a good opportunity to bring some ideas together and the Coastal Series was born.

Unknown Journeys

Threads and found photos. Around 15 years ago I discovered a box of photographs in the loft of the house we had just moved into. Generally a bit wonky, I took them for the rejects amassed from numerous holidays; efficiencies gained through amazing technology means we don't get these now of course. For 'Unknown Journeys' each image adds to the mystery and uniqueness of these works.

Find them in Threads + Things.

'Particulate Bodies'

Particulate Bodies

Just added this Thread + Paint piece, for the record – it sold a little while ago. The black painted elements of these pieces are hugely influenced by traditional oriental watercolour painting, with similar techniques used to create pure abstract forms.

New Work

The Wrong Ways: A—E

Sections of edited map keys with vintage index cards found in New York over twenty years ago and confused threaded route lines. Lost in an abstract world. The first five of an ambitious series of 25 (X and Y share a card).

Who knows when I'll get to 'Z'.

See A—E in Threads + Things.
